MAC-UK is rooted in community psychology, so we believe that it is communities who hold the solutions to social change and well-being.

Our priority is working in partnership with marginalised groups and communities. This creates empowerment, so that they own their own impact, rather than having change done ‘to’ them.

MAC-UK was set up with the intention of using ideas from psychology and related disciplines to support and strengthen communities, systems and excluded groups so that they can generate and access new solutions, services and resources.

Our vision is that charities like MAC-UK will no longer be needed because services, structures and systems will adapt to better harness the assets of excluded young people, their families, friends and wider communities.

We believe in the importance of sharing different ideas and ways of being with young people, so that all elements of a system are valued and understood
