MAC-UK, in partnership with St Christopher's, will be embedding ourselves in a number of care homes across Ealing and Hounslow as part of the innovative Staying Close project. Staying Close aims to promote the positive transition from Looked After Child (LAC) to Care Leaver and create an environment for the young people to visit and stay connected to their previous care homes, much like their counterparts who are not in the care system.

There will be a MAC-UK team working alongside St Christopher's participation practitioners to support the care homes in sharing their learning with other homes through young people and staff co-facilitating training sessions and reflective groups. The team will also help to carefully support a group of young people prepare to be housed in an independent residency in which the young people, with clinical and practical support, would risk assess, live in and manage the property. MAC-UK will also support the young people and their key workers in designing what the ongoing support for the residents would look like with an emphasis on it being co-produced, done with not done to.
