In recognition of the difficulties some families have in accessing services quickly, London Borough of Barnet have responded by bringing together a team of professionals from various backgrounds who are called “REACH”. The team seeks to help young people and their families build resilience and work through difficulties together. The REACH team want to support an approach whereby families can avoid complex professional systems so that they can achieve safe, reliable and positive relationships with each other and the networks around them. Or in other words, the REACH team puts a range of professionals, like family therapists, social workers, clinical psychologists and family practitioners in one place so that families and young people can access them quickly.

To ensure service users voices are truly heard, REACH have incorporated ideas around co-production, youth participation, youth employment and a more psychologically informed approach to the intervention. MAC-UK have come alongside REACH to support the implementation of these ideas.
