The Board of Trustees at MAC-UK are delighted to announce

the appointment of Caimin Collins as the charity’s new Chief Executive Officer.

The Board of Trustees led an inclusive and collaborative recruitment campaign to ensure that key stakeholders were able to fully shape the process, in keeping with the MAC-UK ethos. Caimin was selected from a strong pool of candidates and the Trustees are grateful to all of the passionate candidates that put themselves forward for this position.

Caimin, who is currently the East London and Essex Director for Teach First, will take up the CEO post at the end of November, bringing experience to MAC-UK from across the creative, publishing, youth work and education settings.

The Board were particularly impressed by Caimin’s strong background in co-production and experience of setting up accessible mental health services tailored to the needs of young people, combined with his vision for how we change the systems excluded young people face.

Our colleague, Keesha Simpson, Youth Consultant, says:

“Caimin has an impressive background and my hope is that his connections will be a great fit for MAC-UK and the direction that we want to take. I did enjoy the fact that he seemed very strong and strategical and he was very different, and that difference will be positive for us.”

Our new Chief Executive, Caimin Collins, says:

I am thrilled to be joining the MAC-UK team in this, its tenth year of transforming the way young people access the services they need to meet the challenges they face. There has never been a more important time to work alongside young people to promote social equality and re-build trust in our system. I am honoured to be leading the next phase of its exciting journey and look forward to building on all that's been achieved.

Our Chair, Steph Taylor, says:

"Our outgoing CEO Sinem Cakir will be hugely missed. She is a values-based, creative, supportive and inspiring leader who has developed the charity and challenged us to grow our impact while keeping young people at the heart of everything we do. We can’t wait to see where her systems changing mission takes her next!

"With endings come new opportunities. In Caimin we are confident we have found someone who will provide consistency in working to and promoting our principles - while bringing the new skills, ideas and energy we need to continue to meet our mission. We are very much looking forward to working together with him to change the systems excluded young people are part of at such an important time.”
